14th Nestlé KOKO KRUNCH® Junior Taekwondo Championship


Aspiring Taekwondo Stars Battle for Gold & Glory At 14th Nestlé KOKO KRUNCH® Junior Taekwondo Championship.

First launched in 2006 with the support of Taekwondo Malaysia (WTF), the Nestlé KOKO KRUNCH® Junior Taekwondo Championship provides a platform to develop young talents at the grassroots level by giving them a first taste of competitive Taekwondo. This Championship is aligned with Nestlé’s commitment to encourage more active lifestyles amongst Malaysians. 


Do you know martial arts can be a positive, healthy activity for your kid. There are many types of martial arts practiced, and one of the martial arts most suited to children is Taekwondo.

Taekwondo focuses on self-defence and development of self-control, can help to improve kids' self-control, attention and other executive functioning skills.
Taekwondo can be a way for children to become physically fit and healthy.


Tuan Suhardi Alias, Deputy Director of National Sports Council, who officiated the medal presentation and closing ceremony said, “The Nestlé KOKO KRUNCH® Junior Taekwondo Championship is indeed an effective platform. Early exposure is important for the development of young athletes.

During the Grand Finals, 354 medal winners from 19 clubs competed for the coveted Nestlé KOKO KRUNCH® Junior Taekwondo Championship Tunku Imran Challenge Trophy. 


This comprised 115 participants from the Central region, 86 from Southern region, 96 from Northern region, 54 from East Coast region and three from Singapore. 



The participants consisted of 175 girls and 176 boys, with 169 exponents aged 7 to 9 years old and 185 exponents aged 10 to 12 years old. The overall Championship this year had a total of 1,783 participants across Malaysia and Singapore.
