Planning a family getaway during the school holiday?
If you don't want to travel abroad, can consider local staycations.
Staycations are cheaper than vacations Holidaying means you can save such as plane tickets and airport transfers, leaving you extra cash to take part in more activities and experience during your stay.
Best Western i-City Shah Alam is one of my favorite hotel in Malaysia.
I just had my 2 night staycation at this hotel on last week.
We check in at this hotel on Friday evening and check out on Sunday evening.
The First night we direct go to level 5 (The View Cafe) to enjoy our seafood BBQ after check in at the registration counter without entering to our room yet.
This eat-all-you can seafood BBQ start at 7:00pm to 10:00pm every Friday, held at their alfresco dining area at The View Cafe on level 5.
There are squid, mussels, salmon, tiger shrimp and many variety seafood to choose from.
If you are seafood lover than should try for this because their seafood quite fresh and juicy, furthermore you can enjoy the nice lighting view while enjoying your dinner at the alfresco dining area.
Additionally, This promotion includes a free bottle of beer or mocktail.
*If you have bring kids along, this seafood BBQ may be not suitable for them as mostly grilled and spicy foods, but you can still try their regular menu with fried rice and other desserts to fill your child's stomach.
After dinner, we went to take our luggage and then walked to our room.
When we entered the room, we were pleasantly surprised.
Our room is decorated with many balloons, and there are happy birthday banner hanging between the bedrooms
Yes, we have informed them that we plan to celebrate my Son and daughter birthday during this staycation at their hotel.

The hotel room is clean and comfortable, come with security box and small refrigerator, which provide the daily necessities required by the guests.
The second day, we woke up and went to have our breakfast.
Their Daily breakfast is free and easy from 6:30am to 10:30am, also at The View Cafe.
Their breakfast is similar like other hotels, got bread, cereal, fried noodles, nasi lemak, eggs, salad, sausage, fruits etc. Taste good and more choices.
After breakfast, we have walk around the hotel and noticed there have some game shops and small play area just opposite and nearby the hotel. Like gun Shooter game and Wax Museum worth you to explore too.
We walk back to Hotel to have our lunch.
Best Western i-City Shah Alam has introduce their “ Go Beyond Signature and new beverage menu ” that hosted at the same venue The View Cafe on level 5.
I have take my order for few dishes, like Tuna Miso, Coffee Lamb, Cincalok Beef, Salmon Noodle, Sambal Roulade, Malaysia Spaghetti Classic and Satay Burger. For drinks I order Pineapple cooler, BW refresher, Slushy Mania, Go Green and Cappuccino.

Beverage menu: Pineapple cooler, BW refresher, Slushy Mania, Go Green.
These foods are good, I especially like the Satay Burger and my husband he said the CoffeeLamb and Cincalok Beef not bad to try too.
After lunch, we plan to go to the WaterWorld at i-City, Shah Alam. This WaterWorld just new few minutes walking distance from the Best Western i-City Shah Alam hotel.
I need to mention that the Best Western i-City Shah Alam has offering all their hotel guests with Free Unlimited access to the Water Park.
That is really great promotion as you can save some money and play more activities or games that around the hotel.
The Water park definitely can make your kids happy and play for all day and don’t forget to catching their famous “ City Of Digital lights ” too.
Their water park have the wave swimmig pool and also several swimming pool with kid’s play equipment to keep your child happy and fun.
We felt tired after played in the water park, we so we decide to order the room dining service.
It is quite easy and you just need to follow their new QR code ordering system from the room to order your in-room dining.
Firstly, you need to scan the QR code located near the dressing table.
Secondly, select your food / drinks that you would like to order.
Lastly just click “ order ” and than wait for few minutes to half and hour.
Your meal will be sent straight to your room by their associates
There have variety menu for your to choose from, My favorite is the Tiger Prawn Aglio Olio, Grilled Chicken Chop and my husband he like the the Char Grilled Lamb Rack and the View Cafe Fried Rice.
We found this QR code ordering system very convenience and also allowed us to enjoy our delicious dinner in the room.
For those who do not want to dine out and want to rest in the room, especially on rainy days, this indoor dining service is very convenient and suitable.
After our dinner, we took a rest and went to visit the nearby “ City Of Digital lights ”.
Sharing some of my photo when we visit the “ City Of Digital lights ”, I have been here before and now it’s really change a lot.
It is decorated with beautiful lights all around, not only the trees, but also the shops along the street and the playgrounds are all surrounded by glittering lights, which makes the entire small city look very beautiful and happening in the night.
My kids very excited to play many games in the Theme park that inside the “ City Of Digital lights ” , such as small trains, airplanes and also the near by merry-go-rounds. It is really a paradise for children.
Especially sitting on the Ferris wheel to watch the night view of the beautiful city, let us spend a pleasant night together with family.
On the third day, we tried their Sunday Hi Tea. There are many local delicacies such as fried rice, fried noodles, Deep fried Dory with Tartar sauce, chicken Burrito, pastries, as well as a delicate chocolate fountain and many dessert.
In addition, there are also clowns appear makes balloons to the children, this afternoon Hi Tea will definitely make your children happy and enjoy.

As part of your staycation, you’ll find plenty of fun activities surround the Best Western i-City Shah Alam Hotel. These can be a lot of fun and extremely affordable.
